| Fellowships IWRM Masters and Diploma courses |
| |
| The four South Asia based university project partners are the Centre for Water Resources (CWR) at Anna University, Chennai, India; Peradeniya University, Sri Lanka; and the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM) at BUET (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology), Dhaka, Bangladesh (in collaboration with BCAS, Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies). These institutions already have or are starting Masters programmes on IWRM that will be strengthened and expanded through this project, through the provision of fellowships. These fellowships are aimed at active water professionals, the education of whom will directly impact on the sector, and at contributing to gender balance in water education and the water resources sector by primarily selecting female candidates (165 female versus 25 male Masters fellowships). In addition to masters programmes, diploma and short duration courses on IWRM will be organised for 435 participants. |
| |
| New course modules and staff trainings |
| |
Several inputs will be provided to upgrade the programmes of Partner Universities |
| |
• |
The first is the introduction of three common course modules in all the four university partners institutions’ programmes |
• |
The second is a series of staff trainings on selected topics focussed on improvement of existing course modules or creating new ones. The participation of all partners in the trainings will also contribute to South Asia level exchange and collaboration. The CB Project Office staff will organise the trainings in collaboration with the other partners. |
|
| |
| Staff and student exchange among partners |
| |
| This component includes the exchange of staff and students among South Asian partner institutions to exchange knowledge and build partnerships and b) sub-regional meetings for the project women participants to strengthen gender-based networking and thereby the female voice in the water resources (education) sector. Each of the exchanges and meetings will have specified objectives and outputs, to be defined on the basis of local and evolving needs. This will be coordinated by the CB Project Office staff. |
