Study Title
Water Balances, Floods and Sediment Transport in the 'HKH-Data analyses modelling and comparison of selected mass scale watersheds.
Study Region Nepal, Yunnan/china, (NWFP/Paksitan)
Problem Statement/Central Research Question
Assessment of current water resources in terms of availability, use, flood generation and actor in land degradation in selected mass watersheds and modelling of changes on the basis of scenarios.
Relevance of the question/hypothesis

Contribution to the better understandin of the integrated function of water resources at the mass-scale in the middle mountain of the HKH and inputs into rural development planning at this scale.

How the question/hypothesis is researched

- Hydro-metrological measurements methods in five watersheds.
- Analyses of the data alone,
- Different surveys including water demand and supply, sediment sources and
- Strong basis of secondary data in the selected watersheds
- Modelling
