Dr. Indu K. Murthy is Principal Research Scientist and leads the Adaptation and Risk Analysis vertical at the Centre for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP). She previously served as Consultant Scientist at the Centre for Sustainable Technologies, Indian Institute of Science for over two decades. Dr. Murthy specialises in forestry and climate change, with expertise spanning inventory, mitigation, vulnerability profiling and adaptation. She serves as the Land Use Change and Forestry expert for India's National Communications to the UNFCCC and has developed CDM and REDD+ projects in India. She has been instrumental in formulating climate proofing and green growth strategies for ongoing and proposed developmental projects. She is a forestry and climate change consultant to the United Nations, the World Bank and several other multilateral agencies. Dr. Murthy has published extensively in peer reviewed journals and is a Contributing Author of the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report (2007) and the GEO-6 Asia Pacific Report. She also serves as Coordinating Lead Author for the Global Environment Outlook-6 of UNEP.
